Prakash Tiwari was born and raised in Uttrakhand, India. He studied at IISER Bhopal and his master’s thesis was carried out in the group of Prof. Manmohan Kapur, where he investigated the palladium catalysed meta-C-H arylation of ferrocene derivatives using Pd/NBE relay catalysis. After graduation, he subsequently joined Prof. Debabrata Maiti’s group at Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) as a project research assistant. During his tenure in the DM lab, his research involved palladium catalysed enantioselective C-H functionalization of free acids. After a long stint, he moved from his home country and joined the PhD program in the Noël’s Research Group at UvA under the supervision of Prof. Timothy Noël, where he is exploring the photocatalytic C(sp3)–H activation using gaseous reagents.
