Chiara Maioli is a PhD student coming from the University of Eastern Piedmont where she also obtained the Master Degree in Pharmacy. During the thesis period, she worked on the one-pot synthesis of cannabinol within the Natural Products Organic Chemistry group. Following the degree, she spent a year and half as a junior fellow in the same laboratory focusing on the Structure-Activity-Relationship (SAR) studies of the antitumoral compound Tigilanol Tiglate under the supervision of prof. Giovanni Appendino. In 2021 she started the PhD under the supervision of prof. Alberto Minassi with her primary research focus on the chemical exploration of specific classes of terpenes through semi-synthetic modifications to assess their biological activity. Currently, she is a visiting PhD student in NRG and she’ll explore new methodologies for the photochemical selective functionalization of cysteine.
